I recently published my first e-book and have used "Crush it on the Kindle" as a reference all the way through. It is particularly useful on how to best exploit your membership in Kindle Select, free days, sales. And I have already purchased the author's other book on Amazon sales secrets. There are some things in "Crush it" that I have had trouble understanding - for example, those regarding html usage or other things in which numbers are involved - but that's me. I am much older than Michael Thomas and have sometimes had to ask my young computer nerd to translate. But he, too, was very impressed. Thanks, Michael, for your help!Product details

If there is one book that can take you from merely dreaming about self-publishing to successfully completing your book, that book is Michael Thomas's Crush It on the . But that is only the beginning -- his tips, insights and suggestions on how to price, promote and sell your book are outstanding and will probably be the key to whether your book really turns heads on or not. That's it in a nutshell, get it and go (write your masterpiece).
This is a perfect guide for those who are brand new to the world of e-publishing. In fact, it has helpful advice for those who have been at it a while too. What I like best about this guide is that it's clear, easy to understand, based on experience and there are no gimmicky sales pitches. I found it very helpful to get the ball rolling. I'll be coming back to it many times!
I have read many books on self publishing and quite a few on formatting. I think what I like most about Crush it was the way it approach's self publishing. It truly is unlike any other industry, it certainly is a ground floor, actually, I think he missed it a bit as it is probably down in the basement ground floor opportunity with kindle and ebooks. All in all, he did a nice job in laying out a pretty good road map as to how all of this shapes up. I am always looking for the free downloads of course, but this is one that I would put on my "buy" list. It's worth the money at any price. You know, if you pick up just a couple of idea's of how to promote your ebook, and he gives about twenty places that have links to post your book and more practical advise for those of us that really do not have the time nor the inclination to spend all of our time on facebook, twitter or other social media. His down to earth advice is if you have the time, go for it, but here is a couple of other area's you might want to consider. I think what I came away from with this book is that we make it harder than it really is in our minds. If we follow some basic advice, we are indeed going to "get er done". Not a bad philosophy and I have to admit a confidence builder. I have published quite a few books and I have had problems formatting no matter how simple KDP tells us it is , it ain't. First book I downloaded took me about eleven hours to format and now it takes about two hours. He gives a pretty good section on formatting simply from a Word Document and using to transfer it to mobi. It really is a lot easier than we give it credit for. Basically, follow his advice on staying the heck away from backspaces, indents and tab's and you might just get it formatted and looking pretty good. I don't want to give the book away, but from someone who has published a bushel of ebooks, I found it quite a pleasant read. No, I don't know the author, never met him. Tried to send him a Thank you note and his email didn't go through from his published gmail account. Too bad, I was going to send him a couple of my books just to Thank him for the great effort he put into this book but now I guess he will have to buy mine. Give this book some serious consideration. I don't usually post reviews nor do I give out five stars so easy. But this one deserved it. I think you will enjoy the read. Good book.
I gobbled up all the info in this book. It was written clearly and simply so it's an easy read. I especially liked the info on the KDP free promotion. I have self-published other non-fiction, but this book helped me understand the process of getting a file ready to upload and gave me the courage to go through with finishing the project.
This book is fantastic for the beginner (like me) just getting into the eBook world! I read it straight through and when I put it down I went straight to my computer and wrote 7 pages in an hour of my own story! Hopefully I'm a self published author soon too!! Thank you Mike.
Well worth the price! I have read Michael's book twice so far. I wish I would have came across this book 3 months ago,I could have saved myself a ton of heart ache and worry! He answers a ton of questions for anyone who is considering self-publishing along with providing resources and recommendations on how to make your book a success. Of the 10 or so books that I have purchased on self-publishing I feel Crush It on The is at the very top. I must have highlighted half the book from the plethora of Ah-Ha's that came to me while reading. I am personally within 5 days of self-publishing my book and I plan on using Michael's advice to make it a great success.

Despite the fact that I am good at researching and perhaps to someones's point that this information could be found elsewhere online for free, I think this book was full of good information. I like that for 99c i got it all in one place!
I am planning on publishing my own book this year and there was information in here that I had not seen elsewhere (such as how to promote your free book days).
I took 6 pages of notes and feel that I am armed with all the information I need to systematically move forward once by book is complete.
Having worked on another book project this year I can atest to how much time is involved in putting a book together and publishing, even if short. I appreciate the author's time in putting this together for other potential authors benefit!
